Lyson Participates in Taiwan Head and Neck Society (THNS) Workshop

On June 29, 2025, Lyson Medical Technology participated in the 2025 Taiwan Head and Neck Oncology Annual Meeting, held at National Cheng Kung University Hospital (NCKUH). During the “Basic and Advanced Ultrasound-Guided Procedures Workshop,” Lyson provided its high-fidelity ultrasound-guided thermal ablation training platform for hands-on procedural training.

The workshop focused on thermal ablation techniques for head and neck tumors, combining expert-led lectures with step-by-step procedural instruction. Experienced clinicians guided participants through ultrasound-guided needle placement, targeting, and energy delivery, with an emphasis on practical procedural skills.

Lyson’s training platform was used to simulate key aspects of the clinical procedure, including ultrasound-guided needle placement, puncture resistance, bubble formation, and tissue changes during thermal ablation. Participants also practiced planning and comparing different needle paths and ablation outcomes, as well as the operational steps involved in the Moving Shot Technique.

Key Training Features:

  • Ultrasound-Guided Needle Placement: Practice needle positioning and targeting under ultrasound guidance.

  • Step-by-Step Thermal Ablation Training: Practice the key procedural steps involved in thermal ablation.

  • Moving Shot Technique Practice: Plan and compare different puncture paths and observe their corresponding ablation outcomes.

  • Realistic Tissue Response: Simulates puncture resistance, bubble formation, and tissue changes during thermal ablation.

The platform also received positive feedback from participating physicians, particularly regarding its tactile response and realistic simulation of ultrasound-guided procedures and thermal ablation. Participants commented:

“The tactile feedback is incredibly close to real procedures.”

“It’s amazing to have such a complete platform the very first time I practice this technique.”

“The bubble effect during ablation feels so real!”

The feedback provided valuable insights into the practical use of high-fidelity simulation for thermal ablation training and will support Lyson’s continued product development.

Lyson will continue to develop high-fidelity simulation platforms for minimally invasive procedures, working with medical centers, teaching hospitals, and academic institutions to support hands-on clinical training and the continued development of medical simulation technologies.
